A CHRISTMAS tree, donated by a Lickey End garden centre to Primrose Hospice, will be lit up in Bromsgrove town centre this weekend as a tribute to residents' lost loved ones.

For the 4th year running, Littleheath Garden Store has provided the tree for the hospice's annual Lights of Love campaign, which supports patients and families with life-limiting illnesses.

Primrose's fundraising manager Emma Williams said: "Lights of Love is a very special campaign for us at Primrose - it’s an opportunity for family and friends to remember a loved one by dedicating a light to them on one of our Christmas trees in Bromsgrove, Redditch and Rubery.

"Their names are placed in remembrance books around our trees for family and friends to visit throughout the festive season.

“In return we ask for a donation to Primrose Hospice, allowing the hospice to continue its vital work.

"We support patients living with life-limiting illnesses and their families, and the hospice must raise over £1.75million per year to continue to provide essential services free of charge.

"Each year the Lights of Love appeal is hugely successful in raising these crucial funds.”

Littleheath's conifer is already on display outside Asda in Market Street, where visitors will also find a remembrance book for named dedications.

Store manager Neil Stevens said: "We are honoured to have been asked to donate a Christmas tree to such a worthy cause.

"Our local community is at the heart of what we do and the Lights of Love campaign is important to Bromsgrove as it gives them an opportunity to remember people they have lost but also to give thanks for those people they love and care about."

Bromsgrove's Lights of Love switch-on will take place on Saturday at 5pm. To donate to the campaign visit primrosehospice.org/lights or call 01524 889794.

Littleheath Garden Store will once again be hosting a free grotto in store with voluntary donations going towards Primrose Hospice and Greenfingers Charity.

The enchanted forest-themed grotto will be open from 11am to 3pm every weekend from November 25, and then every day from December 18.
