SANTANDER's refurbished branch on Bromsgrove's high street has been officially opened by the town MP.

New facilities include digital workstations with tablets for online banking, express banking with a new ATM wall, counter services for more secure transactions and private interview rooms.

Santander's head of retail distribution Susan Allen said: "Banking is changing at a rapid pace and we wanted to create a branch that can accommodate the needs of all our local customers.

"That means combining traditional banking facilities and a focus on delivering great customer service with modern, digital services including free Wi-Fi, customer tablets and digital ATMs.

“Santander branches are an important part of many communities and our investment in this branch reflects our commitment to Bromsgrove.

"We will also be illustrating our involvement in the area with a personalised picture wall showcasing the branch’s role in local initiatives.”

The new look branch, which took five weeks to refurbish, was launched by Bromsgrove MP Sajid Javid on Friday (November 17), when a cheque for £5,000 was presented to Acorns Children's Charity, and cakes were sold for Children in Need.

Mr Javid said: "I was pleased to welcome Santander back to the High Street today.

“Their newly refurbished branch looks fantastic, and I was delighted to see Santander’s continued commitment to our community demonstrated through their generous support for Acorns Children’s Charity and Children in Need.

“I wish them the best of luck with their future business and local community initiatives.”

Bromsgrove's Santander, which employs seven staff, is the latest branch to be redesigned as part of a programme to deliver better customer service and community-friendly banking.
