A BOTTLE shop in Bromsgrove is leading the way under a national scheme to keep people hydrated.

Bayleys in Worcester Road is the first business in the district to sign up for the Refill programme, which sees participating bars, cafes and restaurants welcoming in passersby to refill their water bottles free of charge.

Co-owner George Bayley, who runs the bar with his brother Jack, said: "We are proud to be the first business in Bromsgrove to join this scheme and to be helping reduce the amount of plastic used.

“We look forward to meeting the new customers who come to fill up their bottles.”

A Refill sticker will now be proudly displayed in Bayleys' shop window.

Bromsgrove District Council's centres manager Cheryl Welsh, who is rolling out the campaign, said: "This is our first step to introducing Refill across the district.

“The scheme has received a great response from local businesses and I look forward to seeing more and more stickers in windows across the district.”
