A DIAMOND couple have been celebrating after reaching 60 years of marriage milestone.

Bridget and Lawrence Warwick met at a Cutnall Green pub and were married at St John's Church in Bromsgrove on March 15, 1958.

Mrs Warwick, 78, said their first date was at The Crown and Sandy's pub in Ombersley, a village they have lived in throughout their married life including seven years at their current home.

Before retirement Mr Warwick, 84, worked as a farmer's manager, while Mrs Warwick worked as a farmer's secretary.

The couple recently celebrated the milestone with a tea party with their family, which includes their son and daughter, their two grandsons, and two great granddaughters.

Mrs Warwick said she was also thrilled to receive a card from The Queen, which she will now keep as it will always have sentimental value.

Asked about the secret behind their successful marriage, Mrs Warwick said: "Probably give and take.

"It is an achievement, 60 years.

"People get married late now, I was married when I was 19, and when Laurence was 24.

"We have had a lot of happy times."
