AN open day showcased a range of fun river sports including stand up paddleboarding.

Bonkers Activities in Pershore held an open day on Saturday April 14.

Nationwide suppliers attended the event including O’Shea Board Manufacturers from North Wales, Tiki from Cornwall and Red Paddle Co from Dudley.

There was free archery, refreshments and plenty to keep the visitors happy and occupied.

Over 100 people went on the river to experience the town from a new perspective, and 25 people joined the beginner lessons, all successfully standing up for the first time.

Bonkers also used the event to launch their new activity combat SUP archery.

Bonkers Activities and ‘Get Active Outdoors CiC’ operate as a social enterprise.

They subsidise many of their sessions and a percentage of what they do bring in goes to the Riverside Centre Youth Charity.

Owner Kim Bonk added: “SUP is such a great activity, and we keep finding more exciting things we can do. It’s all about getting active outdoors and having fun, come and join us.”
