Evesham will see 98 riders sign on in the morning to start the fourth stage of the OVO Energy Women’s Tour.

The stage is almost unique in that it takes places almost entirely inside the same county.

Setting off from Evesham the riders head west then south through Pershore and Eckington to skirt Broadway and tackle the climb of Snowshill before heading through Chipping Campden and Bidford on Avon, another climb a sprint at Inkberrow, then through Droitwich to head to the finish in the centre of Worcester

Unfortunately, both Worcestershire-born riders in this race, Hannah Payton from Stourbridge and Hayley Simmonds who went to King’s school in Worcester have both abandoned the race during the third stage.

After signing on and being introduced to the crowd at the start line from 9.30am onwards, riders will set off from Vine Street at 1030 am. The first 13 km will be relatively gentle riding in what’s called the ‘neutralized zone’ until the racing properly starts at Lower Moor.

As well as being able to get a very good view of the rides as they warm up, sign onto the day’s race and set off, residents and visitors will be entertained by the antics of The Hedgemen – living topiary street performers.

If that wasn’t enough, the race loops back from Pershore just south of Evesham, through Bricklehampton and Netherton on its way towards Broadway.
