BRASS band and music lovers everywhere are in for a special treat as the Evesham-based Avonbank Brass Band celebrates the clocking up of seventy years of community service by giving a free massed band concert at the riverside idyll of Hampton Ferry.
The town of Evesham can consider itself fortunate to have within its midst a successful exponent of one of the icons of British culture in the form of its very own brass band. Since its inception in 1948, and from humble beginnings as an offshoot of the Methodist Church’s youth club, the band, which proudly bears the town’s moniker as part of its formal title, has gone from strength to strength.
To celebrate both its longevity and musical success, the Avonbank Band invites locals to attend a special free concert at Hampton Ferry, close by Raphaels Restaurant, on September 1st 2018.
The proceedings begin with junior and community bands at 5.00pm.
