A FREE event to give advice to older residents in Wyre Forest will take place at Kidderminster Town Hall next week.

A Showcase of Services for Older People, organised by Wyre Forest District Council in partnership with Worcestershire County Council and Age UK, will take place on Thursday, September 21, between 9.30am and 1.30pm.

The free event will feature a wide range of organisations offering advice and information on a range of topics including healthy living, local services, activities, staying safe, money matters, plus more.

There will even be a chance to book a free electric blanket safety test. To book an appointment for the free safety check, call Age UK on 01562 827788.

There will also be free refreshments and a free prize draw.

Councillor Chris Rogers, cabinet member for housing, health and wellbeing, said: "It is great that the Showcase is once again offering this valuable opportunity to the older residents in our community.

"There will be lots of useful - and potentially life-saving - information on hand on a wide range of topics, of interest to older people - and it promises to be a fun day that should not be missed."
