A HOTEL in Kidderminster has been recognised for its outstanding service after it was handed a Certificate of Excellence award from TripAdvisor - for the fifth year running.

Staff at Gainsborough House Hotel celebrated the award after receiving an average of four stars from 507 visitor reviews on the popular travel website.

The certificate, which has been running since 2013, celebrates hospitality excellence by awarding establishments that consistently achieve outstanding customer reviews.

Danny Rana, general manager, said: "It is a privilege to win this prestigious award for five years running.

"I would like to thank all the team for providing such a high standard of service and, of course, thank all the guests for their patronage and for leaving such positive reviews.

"We are always improving the hotel, such as re-painting, fitting new carpets and getting chairs reupholstered, to keep up our standards of the hotel."

Gainsborough House Hotel previously won the award in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

It has been maintained as a hotel for over 40 years, although the listed building dates back to the Georgian period and still retains a number of original features.

Based in Bewdley Hill, the hotel’s current owners have been in place since 2006.

Recently, the hotel raised more than £400 after hosting a coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support.
