A DEDICATED Kidderminster Harriers secretary who spent decades at the club has died at the age of 74.

Bosses paid a fond tribute to Roger Barlow, who took up a number of roles at Aggborough after joining the club in the 1980s and staying until he retired in 2010.

Harriers’ officials described grandfather-of-five Mr Barlow – who was married to Ann and had three children - as unique, adding that his name will still be instantly recognisable to fans and the wider football community.

His jobs included working as the groundsman and maintaining the stadium in general to working in the offices as the Club Secretary. He was also the Harriers’ ‘oracle of all things football’.

Matty Paddock, Media Director, said: "I only had the pleasure of working with Roger for my first few years here but to say he was a memorable character would be an understatement.

"He's still thought of very, very fondly here so this is certainly very sad news for those of us at Aggborough, where he gave so much time and effort during his career."

He added: “Our thoughts and wishes are with Roger’s family and friends at this time.”
