A KIDDERMINSTER slimmer who lost more than 13 stone in two years is opening a new group to help others achieve their weight loss ambitions.

Net Ramsdale will be leading her own Slimming World group, which starts on Wednesday, February 28 and hopes to help and inspire others to similar success that she enjoyed.

After years of being overweight, Net struggled to walk 100 yards, having breathing problems, suffering from asthma and lost all her confidence. She had bought a puppy hoping it would help her get more physical exercise but found she couldn’t even walk him to his training class.

She weighed 24 stone and 5lbs when she nervously joined a Kidderminster Slimming World group run by consultant Claire Wier in 2013 in a bid to take action.

Net learned about ‘food optimising’ and went on a healthy eating plan which included vegetables, potatoes, pasta, rice, lean meat and fish.

In her first week she lost five and a half pounds and, by the end of her first year, she’d lost an impressive 10 stone.

This prompted her to start a 5k ‘couch to running’ programme and she even set herself a challenge to walk up Snowden. She has since completed four marathons.

She’d achieved her target of losing 13 stone 4lbs within two years and soon after, she finally got married in her dream wedding dress, having been engaged since 2010.

Net said: “After transforming my life and being at my target weight for over two years, I am now using my success to shape a whole new career.

“I want to help other people change their lives and achieve their weight loss dreams too.

“My experience of being a successful Slimming World member means I can support members and cheer them all the way to their target weight.”

Claire Wier added: “When she joined my group in September 2013 she weighed 24stone 5lbs. She has achieved so much and I feel privileged to have shared and supported her on her weight loss journey.

“She is about to start another fab journey as a consultant and I know will inspire many more to live the lives they really want to live.”

Net’s group opens on Wednesday, February 28 at George’s Social Club in Radford Avenue at 7.30pm. People can pop along or call her on 07989 598589 for more information.
