A FLEDGLING Stourport youth theatre group has sent out an SOS to recruit members in a bid to save their upcoming performance.
Stourport-on-Severn Civic Encore Amateur Youth Theatre needs more members to ensure their proposed performance of 1960s-set musical SOS goes ahead at the Stourport Civic Hall.
Organisers are looking for 11 to 17-year-olds and are especially in need of boys, with the leading male role in SOS still up for grabs.
Group supporter, Sheila Wood, said that the members would be "gutted'" if the performance does not go ahead as scheduled in the autumn.
She said: "The group is a marvellous opportunity for youngsters to get involved with musical theatre."
She added that the group offers youngsters acting, dancing and singing in a fun, relaxed environment.
The group meets on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9pm at the Civic Hall on St Martin's Way. To join, there is an annual fee of £30 to cover the cost of rehearsal space and each rehearsal costs £2 to cover refreshments.
No prior performing experience is necessary.
