WORK by Worcestershire artists has gone on show in the centre of Malvern as a preview to a major art event later this summer.

Worcestershire Open Studios is showcasing 23 images of artwork as part of the Great Malvern Exhibition Walk, which runs along Church Walk and outside Waitrose.

The images feature work in a variety of media and include a piece by Malvern Hills District Council’s very own Gilly Hancock, who works in the town’s tourist information centre.

The exhibition offers a glimpse of what will be on offer when artists across Worcestershire open their studios, homes and shared spaces to visitors over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

This year, 81 locations will be available to visit, giving art fans a unique opportunity to venture into normally unseen spaces and talk directly to artists about their inspiration and creative processes.

Sally Anne Morgan, artist and open studios co-organiser, said: “This year’s Worcestershire Open Studios is our biggest yet and this exhibition is a fantastic way of whetting the public’s appetite with just some of the work they will be able to experience later this summer. We’ve only just installed it and we’re already getting a great reaction from passers-by.”
