A WOMAN escaped serious injury after her car flipped onto its roof following a crash along the Coventry Highway in Redditch.

The driver of a grey Vauxhall Insignia, a woman in her 20s, was taken to the Alexandra Hospital for treatment as a result of the one-car crash on Tuesday, September 12.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 8.04am to reports of a car on its roof near to the junction of Winyates Way and Coventry Highway.

"One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene.

"There was a sole occupant in the car, a woman in her 20s, who had managed to get herself out.

"She was treated for minor neck and head injuries, given pain relief, immobilised as a precaution and taken to the Alexandra Hospital for further treatment."

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service sent two crews from Redditch to make the vehicle safe.  Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman added: "An investigation is on-going to establish the circumstances involving the incident, and we are appealing to anyone who had seen the vehicle prior to the incident, to contact West Mercia Police on 101, quoting 104s of 12 September 2017."
