A NUMBER of 'advice cafes' where people can find out more about domestic abuse have been organised.

The events, by Forthright Theatre, are being funded by a grant from Redditch Borough Council and is being staged in association with Redditch Aspiring Communities Hub (REACH) and Churchill Big Local.

The cafes take place within the '16 Days of Action' which begins on November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) as part of the White Ribbon Campaign - part of a global movement to put a stop to male violence against women and girls.

A spokesman from Forthright Theatre said: "Our event however will also look at violence against men and also the impact on children growing up within an abusive household.

"People will be able to enjoy a cake and a cup of tea or coffee and get advice on all sorts of things, as well as domestic abuse – debt, managing money etc. People will be able to hear the stories of people who have been affected by domestic abuse (voiced by actors)."

The events are at Woodrow Library on November 27from 9.30am to 1.30pm, The Space Winyates on November 28 from 9.30am to 1.30pm and Willow Trees Community Centre in Church Hill on November 29 from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
