A GROUP of car enthusiasts from Redditch are revving up support for the RSPCA by hosting a charity fundraiser – and hope the event will help dispel negative ‘boy racer’ stereotypes.

Members of an online car group, called Series52, will showcase their cars, enjoy food, and a DJ set at TPMS on Padgets Lane, from 7pm until 10pm on November 26.

Hannah Print, one of the organisers, said: “We are not boy racers, we are car enthusiasts and we are just like anyone else we have families and hearts.

“We understand the car world has been tainted by typical ‘boy racers’ but we are not all the same and we want to show people they don’t need to be intimidated or scared of us.

“This event is for all car and bike enthusiasts to have somewhere they can go and socialise and show off their modified cars.

“It’s also for anyone to attend to come and see what we do and have a look at some of the cars in our group. We will happily talk to anyone about what we have done to our cars.”

The group has held similar events in the past, recently raising money for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, but this time hopes to raise cash for the RSPCA.

Hannah added: “The RSPCA is something close to my heart as I have a love for animals.

“It is also a charity that doesn’t receive a lot of support like the bigger charities.

“Animals don’t have a voice like humans so rely on people like the RSPCA to rescue them and to do that they need help from us.

“We want to make as much as possible but if we could make £200 that will be a big help.”
