FIRE Crews from Redditch have been called to a fire at an electrical substation which left 6,000 homes without power.

Crews from Worcester, Bromsgrove, Kidderminster, Droitwich and Redditch fire stations were dispatched to an electrical substation on Worcester Road, Upton Warren, Bromsgrove.

Streets in Upton Warren and Wychbold were first affected by the power cut, and up to 6,000 homes were down across the district earlier this afternoon.

All homes should now be back online.

One male has been sent to hospital and the site had to be partially isolated.

Police are warning drivers to approach the area with caution.
