DIAMOND Buses has once again come under fire after a bus crashed into a railing - in the town's bus station.

The 58 to Matchborough somehow went into the white railings, narrowly missing one of the upright bollards.

One passenger, who was waiting in the station at the time, said that the crash came as a complete shock, sending glass everywhere.

The man, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: "I was just standing there waiting and then this happened - I was shocked. I have no idea how the driver could have done it.

"It scared a lot of people.

"People are saying that the the bus service is getting better but it clearly is not."

Another resident, Martyn Long, said: "It looked like brake failure or the driver hit the gas by mistake... or some other anomaly.

"Either way, to mount the kerb in the bus station is a reasonably dangerous thing to do across the pedestrian crossing."
