VISITORS to Arrow Valley can enjoy a party in the park next week thanks to Redditch Borough Council, and Coca-Cola.

The new Park Lives sessions, sponsored by the soft drinks giant, will be coming to Arrow Valley Countryside Park and offer residents the chance to take part in a variety of sports and activities for free.

To launch Park Lives there will be a party in the park with music, food and activities on Saturday, April 28.

The party will run from 1.30pm until 3pm and all the activities on offer will be completely free and suitable for all ages.

Following the launch party, visitors will then be able to try out different activities throughout the summer, for free, every Saturday, 1.30pm until 3pm from May 5 until the end of August.

Activities on offer will include rugby, dodgeball and skipping.

Elisabeth Cottam, children and young people sports development officer, said: “The whole programme is set to be great fun and many of the activities on offer over the summer will be linked to local community groups and clubs, so if you find something you enjoy, there’s every chance you can carry on with it after Park Lives finishes.”

The Park Lives programme was launched last summer by Coca-Cola Great Britain in a bid to get people active, socialising and using their local parks.

Redditch Borough Council were successful in their bid to receive £1,000 of funding to work with local groups and run the Park Lives Scheme at Arrow Valley Countryside Park in 2018.
