A NEW speed enforcement site is being launched in Inkberrow in a bid to stop drivers speeding.

The Safer Roads Partnership in Warwickshire and West Mercia is launching the new mobile speed enforcement site, on the A422 Inkberrow, in direct response to concerns raised about the speed of vehicles travelling in the area.

On road 15 per cent of drivers are travelling above 35.4 mph and 44 per cent of all drivers are exceeding the 30 mph speed limit.

Sergeant Stuart Allen said: “Data collected has highlighted unacceptably high speeds and local people are understandably concerned.

“We hope that the presence of a speed camera will encourage drivers to change their behaviour and drive at a lower, safer speed. This will help to improve the quality of life for people living in the areas, reduce the risk of harm, and improve the safety of the roads for all those who use them.”

The site will launch this month.
