SHOPPERS in Worcester were treated to a performance by former X Factor contestant Giles Potter today (Thursday, Sept 18).

The singer, who appeared on the talent show last year, was with two other members of the four piece group Exposure, which he now belongs to, outside Debenhams in the city centre around 2pm.

The group said they were practicing in Worcester and thought why not try and make some money at the same time.

"We were rehearsing as we have a couple of shows coming up," said Giles, from Norton, near Worcester. "This weekend we have a show and a tour in October so we are very busy at the moment."

Giles joined Exposure after leaving boy band, Stateside, in July.

But he said he is really enjoying being part of the group with Jamie Hutcheson, Ryan Lawrie and Jake O'Shea.

"It's going really well," he added. "It's really weird because when I was doing solo stuff I didn't think it would work for me being in boy band. I have always adamant about stage presence and I didn't like sharing a stage but I have come to realise I really enjoy it.

"Having three others around me is the best feeling and it's really good fun as well."

The group attracted onlookers including another former X Factor contestant from Worcester, Gathan Cheema, who was lending his support to Giles.
