FOOTAGE of an incident which saw a beer can thrown in the direction of Tony McCoy at Worcester Racecourse is to be handed over to West Mercia Police.
McCoy, who had ridden four winners earlier on Friday's card, was returning on the beaten favourite Saint Helena after finishing second in the final race.
Eyewitnesses reported a racegoer shouting abuse at the champion jockey and an empty beer being thrown.
There was no intervention by the stewards as the man did not encroach on to the course, but he was escorted off the racecourse.
Kate Hills, director of public relations and communications of Arena Racing Company, which owns Worcester, said: "The racecourse have footage of the incident on a DVD.
"This is being passed on to the police force in an attempt to try to identify the racegoer.
"The police have the facility to blow the footage up so that will hopefully make identification easier."
