TWO men who were found in an enclosed area of Severn Waste Services' compound with torches, pleaded guilty to going with intent to steal.

Robert Elvis Ingram, 35 of Astwood Road and Paul Nickolas Kear, 43, of Back Lane South, both of Worcester, admitted vagrancy when they appeared before Worcester Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Prosecuting, Sarah Belshah said an alarm system had sounded and alerted police on the evening of September 18. Officers attended and found both defendants in an area of the pound. Both were carrying torches and one had injured his knee.

Miss Belshah said Kerr had told police they were trying to find computer parts because Ingram repaired computers but Ingram had denied this.

Both said they had been stupid going there.

District Judge Nigel Cadbury said: "I take this as a very stupid incident done on the spur of the moment."

He ordered each pay a fine of £70, a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85.
