MORE than two-fifths of office workers in the West Midlands spend less than 30 minutes a day walking around at work, a study has found.

A new campaign by Get Britain Standing and the British Heart Foundation is launching on April 24 in a bid to encourage workers to ditch their desks and find inventive ways of getting workers on their feet.

A poll of 2,000 UK office workers found that 38 per cent of those in the West Midlands are so tied to their desks they’ve emailed someone right next to them, almost six in ten regularly eat lunch at their desk and almost a third sit for so long they even put off going to the toilet.
