POLICE seized heroin and crack cocaine with a street value of £300 during a Worcester drugs raid.

Officers smashed down the door of the property in Woodmancote, Warndon, and arrested a 47-year-old man on suspicion of dealing class A drugs.

The male was sat in his living room watching Jeremy Kyle when police executed the drugs warrant at 9.45am today.

A full search of the property was carried out and three bottles of methadone and weighing scales were also discovered.

Sergeant Dave Knight, of West Mercia Police, said: "We are very pleased with the results.

"It sends out a strong message to any current or prospective drug dealers in the Worcester area.

"Good intelligence led to the warrant being executed at exactly the right time, meaning drugs were recovered and the suspect was arrested."

Police gained access to the property by smashing down the wooden door with a battering ram.

The raid formed part of Operation Protect - a major crackdown on crime taking place across Worcestershire today.
