POLICE are enforcing new traffic restrictions in Lowesmoor this evening.
The new restrictions – which came into force in January – mean the road is closed to all traffic except buses, cyclists and emergency vehicles travelling towards the city centre 24 hours a day, and between 3.30pm and 6.30pm for drivers heading eastbound.
The Worcester News understands two police officers are currently at the junction of City Walls Road and Lowesmoor, waving drivers attempting to flout the rules away from the far left lane.
Drivers flouting the controversial rules have been threatened with £60 fines and three points on their licence.
Although the restrictions have been welcomed by bus drivers, some traders on the street have said their businesses have suffered.
