THE Elgar Birthplace Museum in Lower Broadheath will hold an Elgar Birthday Concert on Friday, June 5.

Chamber Choir Octavo will perform at the concert from 7.30pm and tickets cost £10.

Their programme is called 'Of the Hills and the Heavens' and presents an evening of a cappella music celebrating the beauty of nature and the English landscape.

It will feature pieces by Elgar, Vaughan Williams as well as some traditional English songs.

Museum director Cathy Sloan said: "Our birthday concert this year will be a real treat for the ears. What could be better than to be in Elgar's country, with a concert of songs celebrating the beauty and drama of the English countryside. Our Elgar Birthday Concert this year offers just that and is proving really popular."
