A group of pupils from Abberley Hall School swam a total of 24 miles to raise money for some first aid equipment.

The children, and two gap year students, took part in the event in the swimming pool at the Great Witley school to raise funds for a defibrillator.

Michelle Hayward, first aid trainer at Abberley Hall School, said: “It was a brilliant effort by all those involved, with the pupils swimming huge distances, and we collected an amazing £926 in sponsorship.”

She added: “Two of our parents generously donated two defibrillators and we have also been able to purchase spare pads, batteries and storage cases for them which could all help to potentially save someone’s life.”
