A WOMAN is asking Worcester people to look out for her as she paddle boards down the River Severn in a 1,000 mile paddle boarding challenge.

Cal Major, 27 is paddle boarding the length of the country to raise awareness of plastic pollution.

Miss Major, a veterinary surgeon from north Devon is hoping to be in Worcester between today or tomorrow lunchtime.

"Instead of focusing on the negative side of it, it's about all the amazing things that we can do to help. There are things we can do in our everyday lives such as using reusable bottles instead of single use plastic bottles."

"People can help by doing things like picking plastic up where they are."

Miss Major also wants to remind people of the environment's impact on our mental health, she will be the first person ever to paddle board this route.

Miss Major said: "It's also important to take time to connect with nature. Our mental health in linked to nature and it's important to prioritise that. If people realise how important it is, they will be more likely to want to help protect it."
