A `REWARD' of up to £10,000 is being offered by a villager who says his home has been targeted by more than 200 incidents of vandalism.

Richard Jackson told the Worcester News his bungalow was first targeted in 1986. A year later, in August 1987, a fake `for sale' sign was put up in his front garden.

Since then, Mr Jackson says hundreds of other incidents have happened. They include:

l His garden being festooned with red and white tape in September 1997.

l Traffic cones being placed on the roofs of two cars, which Mr Jackson claims caused £1,500 of damage on Christmas Eve 1998.

l A bottle thrown through his window on January 16, 2002.

l Bolts being removed from beneath his Mini in October or November 2004.

Mr Jackson first moved into his home in Main Road, Bishampton, with his wife in 1977, but seven years later he became involved in a boundary dispute with his neighbours. He says he has reported all the incidents to the police, but as they had failed to catch the people responsible he had decided to launch his own appeal.

"The object of the exercise is to attempt to achieve closure and in the absence of a truth and reconciliation commission, I consider this as the next best method of attempting to elicit the truth," he said.

The 61-year-old added: "It's had a devastating impact on our lives and the repercussions continue to do so. People know who has done it. Why can't they come forward and be honest?"

In August 2005 the Worcester News reported how Mr Jackson, a retired youth worker, had been served with an anti-social behaviour order after he was convicted of assaulting one of his neighbours.

Mr Jackson has always denied the assault and is appealing against the Asbo. He has applied to the Criminal Cases Review Commission and Independent Police Complaints Commission to get the charges overturned. A spokesman for South Worcestershire Police said: "We are not aware of any matters concerning Mr Jackson that have not already been dealt with - either involving anti-social behaviour or criminal activity.

"The law has taken its due course and Mr Jackson is currently the subject of an anti-social behaviour order."
