A BULGING bag of goodies will be given to the 10 finalists of Miss Worcester 2010.

The pink Everybody Knows Somebody bags have been organised by Karen Tomalin, director of 2nd Skin Ling- erie and patron of the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign.

Women of all ages are being urged to bring their unwanted bras to Worcester races and watch the crowning of Miss Worcester 2010, sponsored by Sin and Bushwack-ers, on Sunday.

The family fun day event is being seen as a good way for supporters of the Worcester-shire Breast Unit Campaign to raise awareness as well as much-needed funds to create a £2.5 million dedicated breast care unit at 220 Newtown Road on the site of Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

The Everybody Knows Somebody bag contains a photo session with Angela Lloyd-James in Worcester; beauty products from Clarins in Worcester; confectionary from the Chocolate Deli at the Jinney Ring Centre, Hartlebury; earrings from Rock Folly Jewellery in Stourport-on-Severn; a mug and keyrings from Storage King in Worcester, as well as a £20 lingerie voucher and a day of modelling courtesy of 2nd Skin Lingerie in Bromsgrove.

Mrs Tomalin wants as many people as possible to donate any unwanted bras towards their attempt to break the world record of 200,000 bras in a chain.

Mrs Tomalin said: “What we would like is for everyone to bring a bra or a bag of bras – the good, the bad and the ugly – they all count towards this world record.

“There will be drop-off points around the ground and when people enter.

“We want to raise awareness around Worcester and Worcestershire for the bra chain and why it’s so important.

“We are going to raise a large sum of money that the hospital needs for the breast unit to open.”

Mrs Tomalin said a bra chain village will enable people to see photos and watch a DVD on the bra chain story.

People will be able to have their picture taken with the bra chain while anyone wanting to sponsor one can do so for £1. Companies are being asked to donate £10 towards the cause.

Meanwhile, children will be able to colour in a paper bra for free and see it hung up on a line.

People will have the chance to win a Mini in a free prize draw and take part in a competition to guess how many bras are in a Mini parked on the grandstand side of the course. That will cost £1 a go.

Elsewhere, there will be massage demonstrations and a chocolate fountain while Aztec Mobile Climbing Wall will be donating all the takings they make on the day.

Worcestershire County Cricket Club will also be lending its support.
