A TALENTED musical duo experienced the winning feeling after dazzling the judges of this year’s Text Factor competition.

Charm, otherwise known as Aimee Browne and Charlotte Humphries, were crowned winners of the city’s biggest singing contest at Sin, in New Street, after beating 17 other acts.

Their rendition of Hush Hush was enough to convince the panel of judges they were worthy of pole position after more than two months of eliminations.

They celebrated their win with a performance of River Deep, Mountain High and they brought the curtain down to a standing ovation and an explosion of confetti before being presented with a cheque for £1,250.

Organiser Paul Todd said: “All of our contestants performed brilliantly this year and every one of them deserves an acknowledgement for their achievements.”

The pair, who will be looking to emulate previous entrants such as Malvern’s X Factor chart-topper Cher Lloyd and Worcester’s classical soprano and Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Pippa Langhorne, have also secured a guest slot alongside Steve Maitland when he takes his Michael Bublé Tribute Show to the Swan Theatre on Friday and Saturday, April 20-21.

They will open proceedings ahead of his 17-piece band taking to the stage to perform timeless classics such as Sway, Me And Mrs Jones and Cry Me A River. Another boost to their fledgling career in the music industry comes in the form of a mentoring session from Broadwater Entertainment.

Second place went to Malvern’s Ellie Goble, who wowed the judges with her version of You’ve Got The Love which she accompanied with her acoustic guitar. While third place was shared between duetting sisters Stella and Steph Guest under the guise of Stephella and solo act Kerrie.
