Bikers' Breakfast

Elgar Technology College is keen promote a safe and healthy lifestyle for our students and has been delighted to work in partnership with our School Caterers (Alliance in Partnership), the Local Authority Safe and Sustainable Travel Unit, and MotoV8 to provide a rewarding and varied campaign jointly promoting safe cycling and healthy eating.

During week commencing 18th February 2008, all students using the breakfast service received a raffle ticket. The lucky winner Aidan Upton received a brand new bike from Alliance in Partnership.

Also during the week, any student cycling to school enjoyed a free healthy breakfast, an initiative supported by the Local Authority Safe and Sustainable Travel Unit.

Additionally the charity MotoV8 has been on site servicing the students' bikes and ensuring their safety.

The success of the campaign has been evident in the large increase in the numbers of students both cycling to school and starting the day with a healthy breakfast.
