On Monday 17th March as part of our Gifted & Talented programme, selected students from Years 8 and 9 took part in the Olympic Sport of Judo. The sessions were led by professional coach Keith Jones of the Ni-CO Coaching Partnership who coaches the Olympic Sport of Judo in schools, under the County Sports Partnership based at Droitwich Spa. The coaching sessions introduced the students to the sport and opened their eyes to the opportunities offered in this sport.

Keith has led a total of 40 sessions at Elgar with two groups over 10 a week programme culminating in a competition at the end. Keith said "It is one of the best schools we have been in for many years. The behaviour, enthusiasm and manners of the students were exceptional and everybody thoroughly enjoyed the session."
