Sultan Chowdhury, local entrepreneur and owner of the renown Pundits restaurant in Upton-on-Severn, generously made a welcome return to Welland Primary School, as part of their extensive enrichment programme.
Pupils in Key Stage 2 are studying the Islamic faith in Religious Education. Sultan, with his assistant Masum Ahmed, used invaluable first-hand experience to demonstrate and discuss the principles and practices of Islam. Children discovered lots of common links between Christianity and Islam. Photos were used to explain the scale of Sultan's pilgrimage (Hajj) to Mecca, which he shared with over 6 million other people! Sultan won the hearts of the children - let's hope that Pundits can accommodate 80 new fans to its already extensive customer base!
