LANGUAGE students have been enjoying a week with their Spanish exchange friends who have come to visit Worcester.

Pupils in years 10 and 11 from the King's School are currently hosting 31 students from Zaragoza in northern Spain.

Spanish teacher Janet Maxwell-Stewart, who organised the trip alongside colleague Russ Mason, said the exchange was going very well. She said: "They visited the Guildhall to meet the mayor and find out more about our city. It was a great success and a very enjoyable tour for them."

The students were also visiting Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon during their stay.

This is the first time an exchange has taken place and everyone is hopeful it will continue in the coming years.

During the Easter break the King's pupils went to Spain.

Mrs Maxwell-Stewart said: "They all had a smashing time and they all enjoyed the experience. It also motivated them with their Spanish and it is great to build the relationship between the two countries. They enjoyed the food and the fantastic Spanish hospitality, so we are trying to live up to the same standards."
