Dave BradleyFRIDAY FEELING
Posted by Dave Bradley at 9:06am on Fri 9 May 08
Adding to the list of things you don’t see very often that I mentioned last week.
I was coming round Powick island, the one on the road, not in the middle of the river, and there in front of me was a big red airplane.
It was on the back of a lorry but it was like something the Red Baron would have flown in. At six o’clock on a slightly misty morning, it did look a little out of place.
Went to the theatre in Malvern this week – no, not to see Blood Brothers, which was sold out, but to the Coach house, the little theatre next door.
The play was called Our Country’s Good, and to be honest I would not say I was ‘dragged’ along but there was a bit of a three- line whip from the ‘memsarb’.
I have to say it was very good. It was a story I did not know but is set in Botany Bay when the colony was founded by criminals and their guards and is about one of the soldiers trying to put on a play.
It was very well acted, the whole cast I thought were excellent, but I have to pick out Lee Farley as a Scottish soldier, very funny.
It finishes tomorrow I think but if you get the chance to see it, go along.
It’s the last home game at the rugby tomorrow. It’s funny, sometimes you think it’s been a long winter and then... it doesn’t.
The season started when I was still in France at the World Cup, and that does seem a long time ago, but it’s been ups and downs as ever at Sixways, and how about a grandstand finish by winning tomorrow and then beating Bath in the European Challenge Cup final?
I thoroughly enjoyed doing the game at Bristol last weekend, and what a great finish, all very tense and some big tackles coming from the Warriors.
Well done to Hereford United on getting promoted, and talk about ups and downs, there seem to be more downs for the Bulls supporters. But they have done it, and fair play to Graham Turner and everyone who has worked hard to get there.
I remember in my early radio days trudging round the country covering a not-very-good Hereford side. Those faithful fans deserve some success.
In charge of the grandson, Joshua George today, and I think he might want to go and watch the cricket at some time.
