IPod prizes for taking part in the county libraries borrowing campaign: from left to right Dr George Lord, the leader of Worcestershire County Council, with lucky winners Joseph Edwards, Timothy Birch and Clare Saich.
THREE lucky people have won iPods following a successful campaign to encourage visitors to their local library.
Worcestershire County Council's libraries and learning service spent the last year enticing people back to its libraries and ran a competition giving people the chance to win an iPod. The three winners, chosen at random, were: Timothy Birch, of Bromsgrove, Joseph Edwards of Alvechurch of Clare Saich from Kidderminster.
Dr George Lord, leader of the council, said: "It was a pleasure to present the three winners with their iPod prizes for taking part in the active borrowing campaign. It is vitally important that we encourage people of all ages to get involved with the services that their local library offers."
Kathy Kirk, the council's strategic libraries and learning manager, said: "Although the campaign has now concluded we are still encouraging people to use their local library. This year, 2008, is the National Year of Reading. The year long celebration is an opportunity for people to get involved, so look out for what's on at your local library and come along."
