Moto-cross bikes worth £20,000 stolen

MOTORBIKE enthusiasts have been warned to be wary after six moto-cross bikes - worth £20,000 - were stolen.

The bikes were taken from City Motors, in Gregory Bank Industrial Estate, between 5pm on Monday and 8am today.

There were five KTM bikes - two 125 2005s, an SX 85 Big Wheel 2005, an SX 125 2005 and a 125 2003, all orange, and a red Honda CR 125 2003.

Police want to speak to a man who was seen at the premises at around 3pm on Monday. He stayed for around 20 minutes and left on a blue mountain bike. He is described as about 6ft tall, of stocky build with very short hair and a tattoo on the side of his neck.

He wore a grey jumper, black baseball cap with a New York Yankees logo and blue-and-white trainers.

"We would ask all people interested in off-road motorbikes to get in touch if they are offered any of the above makes of bikes - or parts that fit them," said a police spokesman.

"We would also like the man who visited the garage to come forward and speak to us so that we can eliminate him from our enquiries."
