A WORCESTERSHIRE woman was so horrified at the sight of herself in her sister's wedding photographs - she lost 5st in time for the next family wedding.

Jane Wilson, from Offenham near Evesham, went to the wedding of her sister Claire in September 2006 but was absolutely horrified when she saw the photos.

When, in January 2007 her other sister Helen announced she would be getting married in August 2007, Mrs Wilson started on the Cambridge Diet to lose weight.

"After seeing the pictures of me at the first wedding I knew I had to do something," she said.

"I had tried loads of diets before without much success but Cambridge is a little different and was just what I needed."

Mrs Wilson's weight had been creeping up for years. At 18 she was a size 10, at her 21st party she was a size 12, when she met her husband Will in 1997 she was a size 16 and when she got married in 2000 she was a size 18.

"I know I was these sizes because I have kept the clothes from each of these milestones," said the 38-year-old.

When her second daughter was born in December 2005, Mrs Wilson went from working part-time to being a full-time mum to Millie and Abigail.

But baby Abi's early months were not easy. Abi suffered with terrible colic and gastro reflux.

At eight weeks she was diagnosed with a dislocated hip and had to spend nine weeks in a harness, which kept her legs in a frog position.

Unfortunately, this didn't help so after a small operation she was put in plaster from the chest to the ankles for 12 weeks followed by 12 weeks in another brace.

The stress of the situation meant that by the time of the first wedding Mrs Wilson had gone up to a size 22 and weighed 15st - 95kg.

"I had thought I looked OK on the day but when I saw the pictures I was disgusted," she said.

But thanks to her will power and the Cambridge Diet, by the time the second wedding came around in August 2007 she was down to a size 10-12 and weighing 9.5st.

"It was amazing to be able to get back into a 10/12 dress for the event and people were shocked that I managed to lose so much and change so much in less than a year. It was great."

She has been so impressed with her results Mrs Wilson has become a counsellor herself, determined to help people in the same situation.
