PLANS for the £1.4m refurbishment of St John's Library will be revealed at a series of public consultation events later this month.
Worcestershire County Council says it wants residents to have their say on what they would like the library to look and feel like, as well as offering them the chance to see the plans and learn more about the project.
Kathy Kirk, the county's strategic libraries and learning manager, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity to develop the library as a space for the people of St John's and the surrounding area.
"With this money we can make a real difference to the existing building, to make more room for activities in and around the library and we really do want to work with the local community right from the start."
The council was awarded the money for the refurbishment by the Big Lottery Fund last September.
The scheme follows on from extensive improvements at libraries in Upton-upon-Severn and Tenbury Wells, while a new state-of-the-art library should open in Worcester city centre in 2010.
Councillor Philip Gretton, the cabinet member for adult and community services, added: "This is an exciting time for St John's residents and the library service.
"The consultation events in St John's will give residents the chance to see the plans and have their say on what they want the library to look like."
There will be four public consultation meetings taking place this month:
