Well done to all you brave cyclists
SIR - I wish to convey through your pages my hearty congratulations to all the cyclists who braved the dreary weather to raise funds for St Richard's Hospice.
Everyone was a winner that day just for taking part in the gruelling 15, 30 or 45-mile route around villages as far away from Worcester as Elmley Castle, through country lanes and up steep hills, then down the other side.
I took part on the day, only as a cheerleader to a group of my braver friends. I was saddened I did not see family and friends supporting other cyclists, though I am assured some groups of cyclists were followed by friends in vehicles.
It is something to be proud of and good to see so many taking part.
Sarah Ganderton,
Worcester.
