Wheelie bins are eysore in the city
SIR - I write regarding your story in the Worcester News, April 28 - saga of the wheelie bins. I couldn't agree more with those people, they are an eyesore in our beautiful city.
I have sympathy because I too have lived in a terraced house for the past 15 years. When we first moved into Foley Road our bins were collected from the back of the property as we have a road that runs between the back of our houses and those on Malvern Road, called Foley Walk.
A few years ago the council sent us a letter saying they would no longer collect along Foley Walk. Now we have wheelie bins, all you see are these monstrosities in everyone's front gardens. I will not have them in mine. I don't want to look out my front window and see them standing there.
So, needless to say, every Wednesday my poor husband has to take our bin down Foley Walk up Vernon Park Road and along to our house. On his return from work he has to do it all again in reverse.
Why change our pick-up point when there's a perfectly good service road at the rear were they can empty bins?
JANET BUTLER,
Worcester.
