SIR - Rather than spend a quarter of a million pounds per year on financing a county council scrutiny committee why not call for volunteers from the large group of experienced retired people in our community who would cast an eagle-eye over the council for much less cost?
Or is that the problem? They might be too good at their task for the liking of our politicians!
Jim Evans,
Worcester.
