ROMANIAN Folk Life is the unusual and interesting topic chosen to follow Prestwood Gardening Society's AGM next Thursday, December 13. This is a presentation by Stuart Hall and takes place in the Village Hall at 8pm and free refreshments will be served. Entrance is free to members and £1 for non-members.

DISCO time featuring TJ the DJ is next Saturday, December 15 at 7.30pm. This is no ordinary disco but a special event to raise money for local Prestwood charity, The Thomas Ball Cancer Fund For Children. It takes place in Great Kingshill Village Hall and the tickets are £10 which includes a buffet. There will also be a grand Christmas Draw and licensed bar.

PRIZES are up for grabs in a local Christmas colouring competition for Children. Once more, local retailers, Rusts in Prestwood High Street are running their popular competition which is split into two age groups, children under-six and those under-nine. Entrance is totally free and the prize is the new video release SHREK. Closing date is Monday, December 17.

TODAY why not grab some favourite food and a £1 donation and go along to the Church Hall for a 1pm Pot Luck Lunch with other like-minded food -sharers. It is a very sociable occasion. CONGRATULATIONS and thanks to all those who helped to raise the magnificent sum of £985.82 at the recent Holy Trinity Church Christmas Bazaar.

GUIDES and Brownies are having a special Carol Service at Prestwood Holy Trinity Church this Sunday at 3pm, and at 6pm there is a Sung Evensong.

WILDCARD Theatre Company are passing through the area tomorrow but stopping off at Ley Hill Memorial Hall long enough to perform their exciting production of Hiawatha. It starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £6 and £4 from Roger Perry on 01494 771304 or Judy Clegg on 01494 785755.
