Family shaken by 'Jeep' attack
7:10am Thursday 3rd January 2013 in Worcester By Catherine Phillips, Reporter
MESS: A driver did wheel spins in the front garden of the Stricklands’ home and splattered the house with mud during the bizarre unprovoked attack. Neighbours described the car as a green Jeep/safari-style vehicle.
A FAMILY home was left splattered in mud after a driver did wheel spins in the front garden during a bizarre unprovoked attack.
Mother-of-two Amanda Strickland said the family had been left shaken and confused as to why their home had become a seemingly intentional target for the unknown motorist’s anger. Shocked neighbours in the quiet cul-de-sac watched on in disbelief as a Jeep-style vehicle was driven at speed onto the front garden in Toulouse Drive, Norton, at about 9.15am on Saturday, December 22. The driver performed a wheel spin to flick mud up on to the house before driving off before returning 15 minutes later to do the same thing again.
Fortunately, Mrs Strickland, her husband Robert, 41, and children Callum, 11, and Eloise, eight, were not at home at the time.
Mrs Strickland said her family were left feeling baffled especially as the house is accessed via a private drive and was tucked away in the corner.
She said: “It’s bizarre. It seems to have been done intentionally but we don’t know why.
“We haven’t done anything to upset anyone but even if this is just someone doing something for a laugh then why us?”
The family home required a clean up but there was no permanent damage.
However, Mrs Strickland is worried that if the person does return the situation could escalate.
“It has left my children feeling worried that they will come back and we’re also concerned that if they did return they could do something else which could end up costing us a fortune,” the 37-year-old added.
The family, who have lived at the house for ten months without incident, have reported the attack to police.
Neighbours described the car as a green Jeep/safari-style vehicle with a cage on top.
Anyone with information should call police on the non-emergency phone line 101 quoting reference number 321-S-221212.

Seems a bit sinister or at least vindictive.

FourWFR wrote:It may not have been a major incident to you but to someone with small children it is an upsetting matter if the children are left feeling scared. People are supposed to feel safe in their home and it should be safe for them to play in their own front gardens without fear of idots driving like fools at speed towards their house. You obviously don't have small children!!!! And at Christmas too
