Missing Worcester girl is found
3:10pm Sunday 27th January 2013 in Worcester
Police report that Sharna has been found safe and well.
POLICE have issued an urgent appeal for help in tracing an 11-year-old girl who has gone missing today in Worcester.
Sharna Woodcock, was last seen at 11.15am when she left her home in Canterbury Road, Ronkswood, to visit the local Co-op , but she has not been seen since.
Initial inquiries suggest she never arrived at the store. Sharna is described as being mixed race, 5ft to 5ft 2ins tall, with shoulder-length frizzy hair, which she was wearing down when she left home.
She was wearing a grey jumper with a face on the front, black tracksuit bottoms, black school shoes and a dark green, waist-length khaki coat with a fur-lined hood.
Inspector Stephanie Brighton, who is leading the search, said: "We need to find Sharna as soon as possible and make sure she is safe. If anyone has seen her walking around Ronkswood or playing in one of the local parks, please contact us as soon as possible.
"It is even possible she may have got on a local bus service and made her way into the city centre, so if anyone sees a girl matching her description anywhere in Worcester, we need you to get in touch.
Inspector Brighton made a direct appeal to Sharna to get in touch: "I would also like to ask Sharna herself that if she hears this appeal to contact the police or her family as soon as possible so we know she is OK. She doesn't need to worry about being in trouble if she has wandered off: we all just need to know she is safe."
