A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery in the first hour of Operation Trivium.
The suspect was arrested at an address in Sidbury, Worcester this morning as part of a European arrest warrant after a robbery took place in Poland.
He is currently in custody for questioning and is due at Westminster Magistrates Court for an extradition hearing tomorrow.
Operation Trivium was launched today (Monday) as officers from Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police work alongside the Central Motorway Policing Group to identify foreign criminals who are involved in a range of offences.
The operation targets offenders who use the UK’s road network to travel across the country to commit crime and avoid detection.
It also involves colleagues from police forces in Eastern Europe and is aimed at tackling a wide range of offences ranging from shoplifting, fraud, metal theft, burglary, supply and importation of drugs, money laundering to human trafficking for prostitution.
