A MONTHS-long programme to repair and replace over two miles of water pipes in Malvern residential roads is set to start on Monday.
Severn Trent Water says the work, which will continue until next summer, will be carried out with a "minimum of fuss".
The work, costing £425,000, will begin in Charles Way before moving on to Layton Avenue, Coxwell Drive, Mason Close, Meadow Road and Cedar Avenue.
Programme manager Jonathan Tait explains: “The water pipes around Cedar Avenue have served the community for many decades, but they’ve now become old and prone to bursts and leaks.
"That’s why we’re investing almost half a million pounds to make sure our customers continue to receive a reliable water supply.
“We’re working hard to make sure that we improve our service with the minimum of fuss.
"When we start our improvements in Malvern next week, we’ll be using ‘no dig’ techniques meaning that we can keep the road open.
"We appreciate there may be some disruption and we’re really sorry about this, but the new pipes will keep the water flowing for our customers in Malvern for years to come.”
