ARCHIVE film showing what life was like in Worcestershire years ago will be shown at a special tea and talkies event at The Hive next week.

The county's archive and archaeology service and the Media Archive for Central England hold reels of film from the region, including official films and regional TV news archives.

Some of this collection will be shown next Thursday, (December 4) from 2pm to 3.30pm in the studio at the Hive.

There will also be a selection of amateur home cine film from the county.

Councillor Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member for localism and communities, said: "The Archive and Archaeology Service and MACE have a great collection of memorable footage which shows what life was like in Worcestershire years ago."

Su Vale, Outreach Assistant, added: "This is an opportunity for people to enjoy an afternoon of film footage from Worcestershire in a relaxed atmosphere where they can chat about the film and their memories over tea and cake."

Tickets to the event cost £4 and places need to be booked in advance.
